Who we are
We are a company that provide IAIM baby massage trainings and the Massage in schools programme. We also provide resources for both types of trainings.
Founded by Kate Pigeon-Owen, Childways’ mission is to provide training and workshops to promote nurturing touch and improve communication between individuals. Kate has been an Instructor for the International Association of Infant Massage for seven years and has co-ordinated their trainings for four years. Kate trained to be an instructor of the Massage in Schools Programme (MISP) in 2002, since which time she has been actively promoting MISP. She is now a trainer.
Kate was also a founder member of a small independent charity school in Suffolk where nurturing touch was woven into the fabric of the whole school. The associated Parent and Toddler groups provide baby massage classes and the Kindergarten and Lower School have the MISP as part of the curriculum.
Kate believes passionately in the power of nurturing touch and is striving to promote the benefits of touch in every primary school in the UK ensuring that MISP is part of the daily curriculum.
