Discover Infant Massage Training and More with Childways

Here at Childways, we’re passionate about infant massage training and the Massage in Schools Programme and the many benefits they bring to children, their families and the wider community.

Our mission is to provide training and workshops that promote the use of nurturing touch as a tool for improving communication and relationships between individuals.

Currently we offer the certified baby massage course of the International Association of Infant Massage. These courses are fully accredited by The Royal College of Midwives, Embody CThA (Complementary Therapy Association) and Independent Professional Therapists International (IPTI) – an Association for alternative, complementary and health and beauty therapists.

We also deliver Instructor training for the Massage in Schools Programme (MISP) – a child massage training course focused on teaching positive touch to children aged 2-12 years.

Childways was founded by Kate Pigeon-Owen – mum-of-two and the lead trainer of the infant massage and MISP programmes the company runs.

Kate has been an Instructor for the IAIM for 12 years and has co-ordinated their trainings for 9 years. Her passion for using nurturing touch to enhance the wellbeing of children, led her to becoming an Instructor of the MISP in 2002 and a trainer of the programme in 2005.

Kate was also a founder member of a small independent charity school in Suffolk, where nurturing touch was woven into the fabric of the whole school. The associated Parent and Toddler groups provide baby massage classes and the Kindergarten and Lower School used the MISP as part of the curriculum
