About Wellbeing for Mothers & Babies

This ground breaking course is the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

This new and unique course is an extraordinary contribution to the holistic wellbeing of any young family and the positive responses from both our trainees and their attending mums has been utterly overwhelming.

It teaches Instructors how to share with mothers the fundamental aspects of physical, emotional & mental wellbeing for themselves and their baby. Helping to deepen the attachment and bonding process by sharing WellBeing Story Massage (using our very own beautifully illustrated book), click below to see why this is such a key element of our programme.

The course will enhance Instructor’s facilitation skills in leading Icebreakers, Theory and Discussion, while also exploring multiple ways to create and hold a safe space. Instructors will learn additional ways to relax mothers with controlled breathing, movement and a simple back massage.

The course has been created by Kate Pigeon-Owen, International Association of Infant Massage Trainer, with more than 20 years’ experience working with young families. It is the perfect CPD accredited follow-on training for qualified Infant Massage and Baby Yoga Instructors.

On completion of this training, instructors will be qualified to run a 5 week course with mothers and babies (3 months – 1 year).

Our Course Vision

For all mothers to feel loved, celebrated and honoured in their nurturing and protecting role as they consciously focus on their own and their baby’s holistic wellbeing.

Our Course Mission

To provide resources, curriculum and training to support WellBeing For Mother & Baby instructors as they contribute to the empowerment and happiness of all mothers.

Clinical research prompted by the success of our programme

The University of Derby under the auspices of Professor Chris Barnes (Senior Lecturer in Psychology, C.Psychol, AFBPsS, SFHEA) has conducted research on The  WellBeing For Mothers & Babies Programme. They have evaluated the benefits to the mothers who attend and what impact the course has. The research has been published and you can read it here.

The research will be published in 2025. We will keep you updated.
